If eyes are a reflection of the soul, how can one not respect this long gone 19th century Matriarch. Though a common misconception, most Victorian woman were both strong and wonderfully capable. This tintype photo, an image on a thin iron plate, was hand colored circa 1870's with great reverence. Resting solid in warmly patina flavored frame a bit of glare from the glass is evident. Note the lovely white crocheted collar and mourning jewelry pin.
